SmallWorld’s first health & wellness partner: Fitness One. We accepted their challenge early in our company development to deliver a full-suite digital transformation. Our team created and built a new mobile app, loyalty programs, fitness programs, and CRM tools that would allow the fitness chain to digitally scale, and boost its value to sell for the future.

Fitness One became one of the first fitness clubs to have such a robust digital audience, with user adoption nearly unheard of in the industry. With a steady guardrail, Fitness One was able to evolve from a standard club into a scalable business, benefiting their member experience nationwide.

Innovation is one of the greatest generators of value. Over the course of 4 years, Fitness One has seen 50,000 unique users across its digital platforms. For a gym facility that has 16,000 members, Fitness One’s expansion into the digital world has been nothing short of impressive.

As a partner, we negotiated 3 software migrations, advised on over 30 vendors, and built 11 software platforms in Ruby on Rails, Elixir, Swift, React, React Native, and more.

Where They Are Today

We took Fitness One from a mid-sized fitness chain and helped them see their potential as a digital fitness pioneer. Fitness One’s ranking skyrocketed from a 1.8 to a 3.1 during our most vigorous period of digital integration, giving the business the confidence to start selling assets.

In 2019 and 2020, Fitness One sold 4 of 7 of its locations, and we settled on the tech that best supported the remaining 3 facilities - bringing its ranking today to a comfortable 2.2.
