About the Role

As a key member of our core team at Smallworld, you’ll help shape our culture, elevate our product focus, and set the standard for exceptional engineering. You’ll collaborate within a tight-knit software studio, partnering with renowned fitness and wellness brands like Nike and QALO. This is your opportunity to own end-to-end projects, craft innovative digital product solutions, and drive our growth while delivering impactful, high-quality results with speed and precision.

Responsibilities
  • Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for mobile applications.  

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve user experiences.  

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Design teams to define feature specifications and design solutions.  

  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma.

  • Establish expertise and ownership of a particular component, feature, or user flow with an end-to-end understanding.

  • Consistently deliver on projects of significant scope, contributing high-quality designs and thoughtful iterations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience designing mobile consumer-facing products, with at least 2-3 years in a product design role.

  • A portfolio showcasing your design process and completed projects, including 2 or 3 mobile case studies that demonstrate your process.

  • Demonstrated experience creating user-centered designs for large-scale applications or similarly complex systems.

  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.

  • Experience owning a particular feature or user flow from concept to execution.  

  • Proven track record completing projects that span a large scope while maintaining design quality.  

  • Experience shipping reliable, high-quality designs at scale.  

  • History of collaborating across functions to drive consensus and deliver impactful designs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, a relevant creative field, or equivalent practical experience.  

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with delivering 0-1 products from concept stages to launch.

  • Experience working in a client-facing role.

  • Experience working with design systems or in Agile development environments.

$90,000/year to $120,000/year + bonus + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
